Hutchwilco NZ Boat show

Hi {FIRST_NAME|Supporter},

LegaSea has joined forces with extreme fisherman Matt Watson to be at the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show from the 14th to 17th May 2015 at the ASB showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland.

It will be an exciting event and we hope to see you in Hall 5 as we enjoy being part of the ITM Fishing Show Experience and Revive Our Gulf presentations.

Come and talk to us about LegaSea’s commitment to promote decisions and initiatives that will accelerate the rebuild of our inshore fisheries to abundant levels so we, and future generations, can enjoy a meaningful fishing experience.

From day one Matt Watson has been a proud advocate of LegaSea, promoting our policies to people we cannot easily reach and in a manner that enhances conservation and abundance. Kia kaha Matt.

Revive Our Gulf is a Trust established to restore mussel beds in the Hauraki Gulf. The mussels filter the water and regenerate the marine environment, and could be useful in restoring water quality.

Our LegaSea crew will be working with the Revive Our Gulf team to ensure you walk away from this show with a greater appreciation of what can be achieved to restore abundance and ecosystem function in our inshore waters.

If you are keen to be a Boat show volunteer please get in touch and we will kit you out and add you to the roster.

Want to feature in a documentary?

My name is Holly Campbell. I'm a photography student in my last year at Unitec. For my assignment I am doing a documentary on the fishing industry in NZ.

To document the recreational fishing industry I would love to be able to follow and photograph a fishing trip, whether it be land based or on the water.

On this fishing trip I would photograph: The equipment, the struggle, the catch, filleting and portraits of the fishers.

I'm happy to drive about an hour out of the Auckland region. Please contact me if you would be keen for me to take photographs of you on your fishing trip!

Call me anytime on 021 254 8075 or email me at hollymollycampbell@hotmail.com.

Thanks and happy fishing!

Seabirds - nature's fish finders

Seabirds are nature’s fish finders and an anglers best friend. They can get tangled in fishing line and nets or caught on hooks.

Small changes in the way we all fish can make a big difference to seabird survival – you might catch more fish too!
