Pivotal campaign launch in August

Hi {FIRST_NAME|Supporter},

LegaSea is tooling  up for another campaign so welcome aboard to all the people who signed up to receive LegaSea e-news at this year’s Hutchwilco Boat Show. We had a great time over four days meeting you and talking fishing, what’s happening in our marine environment and how we can all contribute to making a stand for abundant fisheries in the future.

Congratulations to our winner

We had over 700 entries into the draw to win a LegaSea prize pack full of goodies, valued at over $500. Thank you all.

Congratulations to Paul Sables from East Tamaki, Auckland, who was the lucky winner of the Icey Tek chilly bin, a range of Capn Hook fishing rigs, Fog Dog batter and lots of LegaSea merchandise, including a Hutchwilco life jacket, tee, hat and vest, and other prizes.

Thanks also to the suppliers of all these top class goodies.

Gearing up for another campaign!

Fisheries management decisions are political decisions so our dedicated team of experts have carefully crafted five recommendations that promote productive fisheries and a healthy marine environment. We have sent these recommendations to political parties so they can adopt them in their fisheries policies.

LegaSea’s five key policy recommendations are here. We welcome your feedback on them - just hit reply and let us know what you think.

Be on the look out for when our campaign launches in early August - We will be calling on your support to let the parties know how important fish are to us, the public of New Zealand.

A victory for the environment

Trans Tasman Resources has appealed the decision denying them a marine consent to mine ironsand off the Taranaki coast for the next 20 years. The decision committee said it was unclear if the environment or peoples’ existing interests could be safeguarded. Our LegaSea sandmining submissions were strongly opposed to the application.
